How to use the chain sharpener correctly
Step 1 – Attach the tool
Place the chain sharpener on top of the chainsaw chain and tighten the locking knob (1) until the tool sits firmly against both the chain and the bar.
Step 2 – Adjust the position
Use the adjustment knob (2) to set the position of the grinding head so that it aligns correctly with the chain’s tooth.
Step 3 – Ensure stability
Check that the chain support/guiding plate (3) rests properly against the chain and provides stable support before grinding.
Step 4 – Lock the grinding angle
Make sure the catch/stop mechanism (4) is correctly set so that the same grinding angle is kept consistently for each tooth.
Step 5 – Sharpen the chain
Turn the handle (5) smoothly and steadily. The grinding head then moves evenly against the tooth, giving an effective and even sharpening.
Then move the tool to the next tooth and repeat the process.
